Throughout his career in the fire service he rose through the ranks from Firefighter to Fire Chief. Chief Redd brings with him an extensive background in the fire service and includes fire suppression, Emergency Medical Technician, Haz-Mat, Technical Rescue, Training Coordinator, Fire Prevention, Fire Investigation, Public Education, Recruiting, and Human Resources Management.
Chief Redd is a Greer native and a graduate of Greer High School. He has lived in the Greer and Lyman communities
all his life. He served twenty years in the Army National Guard Combat Brigade. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Service Administration and an Associates
Degree in Business Administration.
Chief Redd is honored to serve with men and women who take pride in being part of the Tyger River Fire Department and serving the residents of Western Spartanburg County and the Town of Lyman.
Deputy Chief Harter began his fire service career with the Lyman Fire Department in 1992. He started as a rookie firefighter and worked his way to Lieutenant, before the merger with the Zoar Fire Protection District.

Since the creation of the Tyger River Fire District, Deputy Chief Harter has worked his way through the ranks to his current position. Deputy Chief Harter has obtained fire suppression and leadership training through the South Carolina Fire Academy; including, but not limited to, IFSAC FF1, IFSAC FF2, IFSAC Fire Instructor 1, and IFSAC Fire Officer 2. He holds his State Fire Marshal Certification from the State LLR. Chief Harter
is a nationally registered Emergency Medical Technician And has obtained his associate degree in Fire Science.
Chief Harter is a member of the Spartanburg County Haz-Mat Team. Chief Harter also currently serves as Vice President of the Spartanburg County Fire Chiefs Association.
